My journey in a nutshell until now...

My apologies in advance for a potentially long first post :) I will try and keep it short & sweet!

In September 2009 when a friend of the family was dropping off some baby supplies for Mr.O (= my son) I had noticed she'd lost some weight and asked what she had done?! She quickly told me about her 1st ever ADVENTURE BOOTCAMP and her complete lifestyle change when it came to her health and eating habits. Fast-forward because she definitely had peaked my interest!

At 29, I had a successful real estate career, the love of my life Mr.O was just about to turn 2 BUT I found I was really disappointed with how I looked and felt inside. Now rewind 11 years ago and try to remember how you looked/felt way back then...*shiver* After a few long unhappy relationships, stressful career building, having a baby and being a single mom (enough said.) I took a good look in the mirror and really didn't like what I saw.

That same night I Google Searched "Orleans Adventure Bootcamp" clicked their link; read their whole site (I'm anal like that) and then took the leap (that I had been waiting to take for some time now) and clicked REGISTER! I went ALL in for 5 days a week! I can remember what was going through my mind... how I was in such great shape but I had let 10 years get away from me, uh oh. I can honestly say the first week I DIED several times LOL in a good way of course. Yes, maybe my whole body ached, but I felt great! My energy was returning and I was gaining a sense of routine and accomplishment. I should also mention that I went ALL the way even more by signing up for the BOOTCAMP 360 Program which meant meeting with a Nutritionist (Trina Alps) and getting on meal plans - woot woot! sarcasm :) It took me a few weeks to "settle into" my new eating habits but eventually you step on the scale and you see it go down and you keep wanting "that feeling". Watching my food/calorie intake was difficult, you have to let yourself develop a new love/taste for REAL, GOOD, HEALTHY foods that I hadn't had in years. In my busy life I had become accustomed to eating out frequently and quick microwave dinners (ps: not the best diet btw!)

I will fast-forward again now and say I'm so happy to announce I've lost 29 pounds since September 2009 and am currently at 180 pounds. I'm still meeting with my nutritionist 1x a month and doing BOOTCAMP 2 days a week. I also stay quite active with Mr.O.  My main reason for beginning this blog is because for the past 2 months I feel like I'm falling off the wagon! It's difficult to discuss weight loss and nutrition since many people don't understand.  Instead of keeping me on track during my off days I've heard "It's ok to cheat on weekends", "It's just 1 hamburger and 1 hot dog", "You can't deprive yourself", "Don't lose too much weight or you'll look like a ghost", "You look great now why do you need to lose more?"... and the list goes on and on. I need a platform to express my thoughts, feeling and frustrations over the next few months as I strive to lose my last 20 pounds. And this is it!

I think that's enough for my first post - I hope you'll share this journey with me and I would love to hear your weight loss stories - good or bad - has is your journey going?
